There is something about the movie that I find so inspiring, Maybe because I love the little cozy mystery, James Stewart confined to a wheel chair, able to solve the mystery, just by using his wits. I love Thelma Ritter and Raymond Burr is a far cry from Perry Mason. But above all, I love Grace Kelly and her beautiful wardrobe. She's going no place and yet she dresses so beautifully. Just looking at her gorgeous face and her breathtaking outfits makes you believe perfection is possible.
Could I emulate just some of her wardrobe?
I could if I was wearing a vintage circle skirt straight from the 1950s. And I haven't seen a prettier one than this - from Om Again Vintage, gray blue, teal blue, gray and white, it's simply stunning!
Every circle skirt needs a crinoline petticoat, which gives it that extra pouf. I bought one a few years ago and I can't tell you the compliments I receive when I wear it under a dress. It completely changes the outfit and suddenly you look so festive, as though you're bound for better things. Wildwood Antiques brings us this very full one -
Let's face it, flowers are just pretty. And so are floral dresses. From Meetyou, this Chinese dress can be made to order and will have everyone asking, where on earth did you buy it?
This floral red dress is straight from the 60s, and Studio 54 Vintage is offering 25% off the entire store with the code spring25off.
Of course, a strand of simple white pearls will elevate any outfit, turning the casual into dressy and memorable. Like these real pearls from Rotating House -
Snuggle up with a good book, a comfy pair of pants and a red satin blouse, just like the vintage 1980 one from The Vint Arch -
