Yesterday when I was taking a Barre Class several people commented on how pretty my pink sneakers were. They went on to say how much they like seeing me because I am always wearing something pretty. And that got me thinking. It doesn't cost much to choose pretty things and everyone likes to be dazzled when they see someone who isn't dressed in the usual black.
Someone once wrote, and I can't quote exactly because I don't remember the person who said it, but her life work was to make everything around her beautiful. I would like to think that I do that now and then, that I make a conscious effort (and it is work) to look, well, pretty.
So here are some of the items that will make your world and the world of the people around you, just a little brighter.
There is no way around it. Pink is a pretty color and anyone who wears it automatically glows. So throw on this cotton scarf from Land of Bohemia, the perfect shade and super soft.
I love birds. I love their cheerful chirping and their colorful feathers. And I love these pretty bird earrings from Peace of Cat -
Walking down the streets of New York City, I'm going to guess that nine out of ten women are wearing black coats. When hanging coats in a gym closet or in a restaurant, good luck trying to tell them apart. A little dour and a little unoriginal because, in the end, they all look alike. So if you want to distinguish yourself, if you want to look pretty, pin a rose brooch on and brighten your clothing. From Art Flower Boutique, this one is perfectly pretty.
There is just no question about it. Rose Gold is darn pretty. And so are these bangle bracelets from Project Dahlia, dotted with delicate Czeck stone clusters.
Vintage is hot because it cannot be imitated. This metal purse from High Class Highway decorated with flowers is more than just pretty. There is a place for powder, comb, lipstick and a mirror. It even comes with a puff and a comb. The perfect purse for a lady in the 50s and totally usable today!
Every time you answer your phone, every time you send a text, every time you reach for your wallet, why not see something pretty? Like this wallet and iphone case from Joy Merryman Store drenched in flowers -
